For
years the satellite industry has been at the cutting edge of the information revolution,
enabling global communications and technologies that seemed like science
fiction just a few years ago. Many people would be lost without technologies
like sat-nav's and digital phones. Yet little thought is given to the industry that
makes it all possible.
Whilst
satellite companies like iSat LTD have been at the forefront of some of these
developing technologies we are going to look into another developing technology
that many have adopted as part of their business model; Social Media.
Social
media is any media that’s interactive and blurs the lines between writer and
reader. These technologies give users unprecedented access to communicate and
share, but are these technologies really helpful to the Satellite Industry?
Whether
its websites like LinkedIn or Facebook, Blogs or even video sites like YouTube,
most of us have used these technologies, but are they suited for the busy Satellite
industry, and how far should their use go?
iSat
are conducting a poll to ask you what you think below!
How useful are 'blogs' and 'social media' technologies in the Satellite Industry?
Anyone can comment! Why
not tell us what you think below.
