25 February 2016: After a year’s discussion with ESA, and with a support letter from UK Innovate, following a negotiation meeting held at ESA’s office in Harwell on 1st February 2016, iSat LTD (Integrated Satellite Applications Technologies Limited) can officially announce the award of a contract entitled "Robotic Feed Development".
The program will be carried out under a program of, and co-funded by, the European Space Agency.
The project is to develop a feed tracking mechanism for VSAT antennas:-
- New and retrofit Ku and X-band inclined satellites tracked with ephemeris data, which has lower down-time, lower cost and more precision than current AzEl systems.
- Mechanically adjusted Ka-band feed holder, for accurately aligning the VSAT installation saving 1-2 dB’s and installation time.
- Motorised Ka-band feed holder, for professional high accuracy tracking on VSATs using less power and retaining the wind loading of the original antenna manufacturers equipment.
We're able to develop mechanical prototypes for evaluation now and our first motorised products are expected in a few months.
iSat develops innovative VSAT solutions including “Kurtz-above” solutions; integrating Feed design solutions with the latest reflector technology.
